Beverley Jean Smith, 75, loving wife of Roger E. Smith, passed away on September 6, 2020 at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast, Maine. Beverley was born in Searsport, Maine on August 11, 1945. She graduated from Searsport District High School in 1963 and went on to a cosmetology school. She married the love of her life, Roger, on November 7, 1965. After nearly cutting his ear off, she opted for a different career. She worked as a taxi driver for her father for several years, was a foster mom and retired as a park receptionist for Camden Hills State Park with 20 years of dedicated service. She loved spending time with family and friends, and always looked forward to the summer family reunions. She enjoyed listening to country music, and her relatives, “The Hustus Sisters”, sing. She enjoyed riding her moped with her special friend, Rose, and enjoyed taking classes in cake decorating, ceramics, and various other classes. During the late 90’s, she collected beanie babies. She enjoyed drinking copious amounts of coffee, Diet Coke, and loved the thrill of scratch-off tickets. Beverley is predeceased by her parents Elliott and Irene Ward, in-laws Helen, Carlton, and Kay, brother-in-law Stretch, grandson Jake, brother Bill, and sister-in-law Brenda. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roger; daughter, Lyn, and husband Toby; son Wes; grandchildren, Emily, Kelci, and Peyton; and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth. Her sister, Cora Dean; brothers, Dennis and wife Mieko, Russell and wife Kathy. Her brothers-in-law, Owen, David and his wife Leona, and Dennis and his wife Karin; aunts, Barbara and Jean; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She had five boys that she held very dear to her heart, Butch, Paul, Mark, Neil, and Scott, and five girls Meagan, Karlee, Bristol, Emerson, and Teagan. The family would like to thank the Searsport Ambulance Crew, Doctor Gage and WCGH Emergency Room staff for their life-saving efforts and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the: Ronald McDonald House 250 Bracket Street Portland, ME 04102
