Obituary of Ronald Philip Kaufman

Ronald Philip Kaufman, 78, went in peace on June 20, 2020 due to natural causes. He was born to the late Max B. Kaufman and Lena D. Levinson on April 5, 1942 in Worcester, MA. Ron graduated from Classical High School in Worcester, MA and received a B.A. in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University. He married his wife, Brenda Curtis, in October of 1969 and they lived most of their life in Searsport, Maine before retiring in Vassalboro, Maine. Ron spent his life as a forensic chemist, both for the state police in MA and then in Maine where he retired in 2013. He was admired and respected for the numerous crimes he solved with his brilliant expertise. He will also be remembered for his love of vintage muscle cars, fishing, sports, taming lobsters, and trying to be a funny guy. Ron was predeceased by his son, Adam Kaufman; survived by his wife Brenda; sister, Beverly Kaufman; brother-in-law, David Bloom; daughter, Jennifer Kaufman; daughter, Georgia McLaughlin; son-in-law, Caleb McLaughlin; son, Devon Kaufman; daughter Danielle Kaufman; daughter Jenna-Leigh Kaufman; and, grandsons Kai and Ayden Meservey. The family welcomes you to a graveside service on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Stockton Springs, ME.
