Obituary of Clara M. Johnson
Clara May Johnson, 82, died peacefully in her sleep on June 4th, 2020 at Windward Gardens. Clara was born in Orland Maine, the daughter of Erma and Carroll Patten. Clara’s greatest passions were family, friends, and cooking. All summer long Clara would host lobster bakes and dance parties at her home. Family, friends, and neighbors would gather for these festive parties. Her children fondly recall the adults rolling up the living room rug and rearranging furniture to accommodate these frequent dance parties. Clara was an avid reader; she was always seen with a book or two at any given time. This love for the written word helped shape a bond only severed by death; Clara was predeceased by her lifelong friend Aimee MacEwen. Aimee owned The Book Barn in Stockton Springs, Clara spent countless hours perusing the shelves there.
Clara was predeceased by her parents Erma and Carroll, husband Robert, son Michael, sisters Helen and Angie, and brother Kelsey. Clara is survived by her children Marie, Ann “Terry”, and Robert, her grandchildren Amanda, Sean, Brian, Aimee, and Kylee, her brothers Alvertie, Russell, Carroll “Junior”, and sister Donna. Clara has many other nieces, nephews, and cousins that she adored. A graveside service will be held June 20th, 2020 at 12 pm at the Mount Prospect Cemetery in Stockton Springs, ME followed by a small gathering at the Prospect Community Building, 962 Bangor Rd. Prospect, ME.
