Obituary of Reginald James Cole Sr.

Reginald James Cole Sr., 71 of Frankfort, passed away on May 20, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Reggie was drafted into the Army at the age of 19. He went to Fort Dix Army base for his basic training and then to Fort Polk, LA for advanced infantry training. He left there and went to Vietnam where he served two tours and earned the following medals: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Gallantry Cross with Silver Star, Vietnam Service Medal, The Army Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star Medal of Heroism. Reggie earned an honorable discharge on January 21, 1974. He later spent years as a truck driver before becoming 100% disabled. Reggie was predeceased by his parents Oral and Nelda Cole; his sister Norma; his brother Sonny and his great granddaughter Peyton. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pauline (Parker) Cole of Frankfort; his four children, Regina Clapper and her husband Michael of Stockton Springs, Reginald J. Cole Jr., of Brooks, Dianna Cole of Rockland and Nikki Lane and her husband Eric of Frankfort. Reggie also leaves behind his 12 grandchildren, Ashlee Dennis and her husband Ted, Kevin McAvoy and his wife Patti, Alex McAvoy and his wife Amber, Hillary Cole and her significant other Dustin Dowdy, Christopher Cole, Andrew Merrifield, Casey Barnes and her husband Allen, Craig Lane and his wife Hannah, Alicia Lane and her significant other Tyson Marr, Alex Lane, Dallas Lane and Austin Lane; his great grandchildren, Edward Dennis IV, Noah Dennis, Tyson Marr, Landon Marr, Preston McAvoy, Josie Barnes, Loxley Dowdy, Athena Lane and Remington Marr; his 5 sisters, Nancy McKay, Lynda Parker, Kathy Parker and her husband Charles, Sherry Freeman, and Sandra Dunton and her husband Bob; his brother Carlton Cole and his wife Debbie along with a host of loving friends and fellow veterans. At Reggie’s request there will be a military service for his immediate family.
