Earle George “Skipper” Wentworth, born October 28, 1947, passed away at his home in Rockport, Maine on May 19, 2020 after a battle with cancer. He was a lifetime resident of Rockport as were his parents, Blanche and Kenneth Wentworth, who predeceased him in 1979 and 1995. Skipper attended Rockport High School from 1962-1965 and graduated from Camden-Rockport in 1966. He was an outstanding basketball athlete, and at the time of graduation he was the area counties scoring leader with over 1,400 total high school points. Earle served in the US Army with a duty tour in Vietnam in 1968 before returning to his lifetime residence in Rockport. He worked at the Camden Tannery Company for 25 years and retired at the Mid Coast Solid Waste company after 21 years on February 6, 2020. Skipper was an avid golfer at the Goose River course for many years and had lots of golfing buddies. Earle is survived by his brother Ken Wentworth Jr. and his wife Pat of Kansas City Missouri. His nieces and nephews; Debra Wentworth and Tanya, their children Rhyia and Ayden, Karen and John Salas, their children Jianna and Alexa, Ken Wentworth III, children Jacqueline, Paulina, Brett and Jaxson.
