Obituary of Raymond H. Hall
BELFAST
RAYMOND H. HALL, 84, passed away in Belfast April 12, 2020. He was born in Searsport on June 2, 1935 to Raymond and Nellie (Gray) Hall.
Ray is survived by his wife of 67 years, Arla Hall; his children Raymond Hall and wife Cathy, Randy Hall and wife Nancy, Vicki Hurd and husband Howard, Tami Miles and husband Ed, Buzzy Hall and wife Sharon, Kevin Hall and wife Marie; his grandchildren, Keke Hall, Amy Hall, Mellissa Kenney, Jennifer Grindle, Jill Lepow, Brandon Hurd, Steven Miles, Lindsay Miles Garton, Adam Reed-Hall, Jared Vaughan. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by both parents; siblings Alteana Curtis and Raynita Ward.
Ray was a well-known, well-loved and respected businessman. He and business partner, Doug Hooper, owned and operated Doug & Ray's for 40 years. Ray was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church. He was also a member of Shrine and Masons and was a lifetime member of International and local Lions Clubs. He was also an honorary member of the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club. When Ray asked his sponsor, Roger Blake, why he was being asked to join, Roger replied "it'll look good in your obituary". He started the 9/11 Memorial Bridge-walk in Belfast which he was so proud of.
After his retirement in 1999, he and Arla enjoyed traveling and wintered in Myrtle Beach. Ray loved their camp on Swan Lake, driving his boat and loved family gatherings.
