MILO – Susan Carlyle (Andrews) Small passed away on February 22, 2020 at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born on September 26, 1951 in Norwalk, Connecticut, the second daughter of Irving and Helen Andrews. She was a 1969 graduate of Brien McMahon High School. Susan was a beautiful woman, smart and creative with many talents. She had a sweet singing voice and enjoyed chiming in during family sing-a-longs. She was a fine artist who loved to sketch and water-color. She also knew and liked to work with antiques especially with prints and documents. In the kitchen, Susan was a very good cook and an excellent baker. Most of all, Susan was a kindhearted person, accepting of others, with a quiet sense of humor and a delightful laugh. Susan loved and raised her step daughter as her own, and cared for her Veteran husband during his long illness until his death in 2016. She was a strong gentle spirit and was much loved by her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Susan was predeceased by her parents and her husband Warren C. Small. She is survived by her step- daughter Shannon Small, her sisters Priscilla Cunningham and Gail Stites, her brother Paul Andrews, and by many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. A memorial service to honor Susan’s life will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.ripostafh.com
