Obituary of Lisa Ann O'Leary

Lisa Ann O'Leary, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, 57, passed away in South Portland, Maine, on February 18, 2020, after a long fought battle with mental illness. She was born on September 28, 1962 in Augusta, Maine, to Darrell and Donna O'Leary. Lisa grew up in Belfast, Maine, and attended local schools. She graduated with a B.S. in Early Childhood Development in 1991 from the University of Maine in Orono, where she met her sweetheart, Alison Moore. After being together for 22 years, Lisa and Alison were legally married on March 9, 2013. Lisa will be remembered for her fantastic wit and humor, her wonderful generous heart, and her brilliant, tireless problem solving. She planned perfect adventures for herself, and others, from the time she was a child. Lisa is survived by her wife, Alison; her mother, Donna O'Leary; her parents-in-law, David and Patricia Moore; her sisters, Lynne Annis and husband, Matthew; Debra O'Leary; Jennifer Emerson and husband, Justin; her sister-in-law, Wendy Castonguay and husband, Peter; a special cousin, who Lisa considered a sister, Kelli Grindle Stone; and her dear Aunt Dale Kocot and husband, James; 10 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Darrell O'Leary; sister-in-law, Brenda Moore; her aunt, Brenda Smith; and her uncle Baxter (Toby) Ward. We will celebrate Lisa's life on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast, Maine, from 4 to 6 p.m. Lisa had mentioned in the past that she wouldn't want people to wear black when celebrating her, so please wear your bright colors and bring your favorite memories to share.
