Joan Rubenstein posted a condolence

My condolences to the entire Johnson family on the loss of their loving mom Phyllis Johnson. We will all miss Auntie Phyllis. I loved Auntie Phyllis the day I met her in the early 60's. I married her nephew, Rich, "Dickie" and never felt like an in-law. Auntie Phyllis treated me as one of her own. My husband thought of her as his second mother and he loved her dearly. I loved her dearly too. She always had a smile and great sense of humor, a twinkle in her eye and open for a new adventure. We loved to surprise her on our trips to Maine. We wouldn't let her know we were coming, what a great big smile and laugh when she saw us at her door. Her coffee was always on , her door open and a comfortable bed to sleep in. On her many trips to Connecticut and Florida she taught me and my children to speak a foreign language; those beautiful Maine sayings: wicked, ayuh, cunnin, deuh, and many others. She was always up to going out to have fun...or is that getting into fun and an adventure. I will always remember the fun we had at Matinicus, Rockland, Thomaston, Connecticut and Florida. How great for my Johnson cousins to have such a wonderful mother. And for all the grandchildren and great grandchildren to have her in their lives. We will all miss her.

Jim and I just celebrated our 48th Wedding Anniversary, so Mom Johnson has been my other mother for many years. She was the best mom in law anyone could hope for. Her and I had a lot of great memories and fun times, going to public dinners, dances, wrestling matches, visits at her apartments, so much laughing and love in our lives with Mom J. I loved her Rubenstein family so much. They love to laugh, eat lobsters, pies and hotdogs at Wasses, dinners at Lobster Pound or Moodys Diner. ..her classic activities with Aunt Dot, involving my mom Judy. We never knew what those two and sometimes three were up to. I miss her so much but so lucky and happy she was part of my life and how much she loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. I know mom knew what a lucky woman she was. I can say that if any one was heading for Heaven it was her. Never was there such an angel on earth. Jimmy spent a lot of time with her eating dinner a couple times a week..she loved that time with him. He was her buddy. I miss and love you Mom Johnson. You were the best. I will see you one day in Heaven again.
