Marie H. Mitchell, 85, resident of Prairieville, Louisiana, formerly of Augusta and Scarborough, Maine died March 27th 2009. Marie was born in Montville, Maine January 9 1924. Marie graduated from Frankfort High School. During WWII she was a welder in “Bath Shipyard”. After the war she attended Bates Business College and became an accountant. She went to work for the State of Maine and was “State Controller” during the Ken Curtis Administration. She is preceded in death by her mother Bessie W. Mitchell of Augusta, her father Charles A. Mitchell Sr. of Frankfort, and her siblings: Marion Mitchell of Morrill, Alice M. Weston of Gardiner, Violet Clark of Belfast, Donna L. Mitchell of Port St. Lucie, FL, Charles A. Mitchell Jr. of Frankfort, and Harold L. Mitchell of Freedom. She is survived by June M. Mitchell of Kennebunk, Annie L. Davis of Portland, Elmin H. Mitchell of Montville, Leon O. Mitchell of Prairieville, LA, and Joyce E. Gregoire of Bloomfield, CT. The memorial service will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty on October 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM.
