Obituary of Mary E. Holton

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MARY E. HOLTON, 79, of South Berwick died Saturday June 13, 2009 at her residence. She was born in South Berwick on September 28, 1929. One of Mary’s fondest childhood memories was performing in the folk play “As The Earth Turns” produced and directed by Gladys Hasty Carroll which was adapted from her bestselling novel by the same name. The play ran for approximately ten summers with Mary performing each and every summer. Mary was a lifelong member of the Emery’s Bridge Community Association. She was known as a wonderful cook and the items she prepared for the Association’s fundraising fairs always sold immediately. Mary was talented and creative. She could fix or do about anything, but nothing she did could compare to her undying devotion in raising her five children. Mary was pre-deceased by her brothers, Clifford W. Hasty and Ray B. Bickford Jr.; her father and mother. She is survived by her children, Paul Holton of South Berwick; Rheinhold Holton of South Berwick; Carl Holton of South Berwick; Brian Holton of Dexter; Holly (Holton) Dennis of Montgomery Village, Maryland and nine grandchildren. Arrangements under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine 182 Waldo Avenue Belfast.
