Obituary of William A. Rediker

WILLIAM A. REDIKER, 79, of Belfast, died July 6, 2009 at a local health care facility. He was born November 9, 1929 to William A. Rediker and Dora (Bull) Rediker in Palmyra, Maine. William was the youngest of eleven children. He attended school in Hartland, Maine prior to moving to Belfast in 1942 and graduating from Crosby High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 where he then married Sandra Whitcomb in 1956. William managed and owned H.N. Stover Co. Furniture store in Belfast from 1955 to 1981. He was pre-deceased by four brothers and four sisters. William is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Rediker; two sisters, Rebecca Lothrop and her two children, Peggy and Frank Bronsberg; Patti and Tim Clark , all of Farmingdale, Maine; Ivy Fogg of Bangor, Maine and her children, Carol and Paul Simeone of Waltham, Massachusetts; Richard and Fran Fogg of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Robert and Cindy Fogg of Bangor; Dana Fogg of Carmel, Maine; one sister-in-law Estelle Whitcomb of Belfast and her children Rusty and Ethel Whitcomb of Belfast; Susan and Keith Albee of Bath, Maine; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He will be missed by very special friends and neighbors of many years Bob and Rose Melvin. At the request of the family there will be no visiting hours. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday July 12, 2009 at the United Methodist Church, Mill Lane in Belfast with Rev. David Abbott officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Avenue Belfast.
