Obituary of Althea M. Thompson

ALTHEA M. THOMPSON, 75, died November 11 at a local health care facility. She was born August 30, 1934 in Belfast, the daughter of Roy and Louise (Jacobs) Whitney. She worked for many years locally in the shoe industry. She was a very active member of Faith Temple Church of God for many years. She loved singing and laughing and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always there for her family. She was predeceased by her husband Chandler Thompson, Sr. in 1993. Survivors include her four children, Viola Noyes of Belfast, Gary Thompson and his wife Julie McCue of Georgia, Pauline Gallia of Limington and “Tom” Chandler J. Thompson Jr. and his fiancé Barbara of Searsport; a brother Harold Whitney of Ashland; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Friends may call at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home on Thursday, November 12th from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with interment following at Smart Cemetery.
