Obituary of Nancy M. Shute

NANCY M. SHUTE, 80, passed away May 19, 2010 in Belfast. She was born in Belfast June 13, 1929, the daughter of Marion and Beulah (Dodge) Goodwin. She worked as a hairdresser in Belfast for many years and used to bake pies, cookies and sweets for her elderly clients when she did their hair for them at home. Nancy loved the water, especially the ocean, and had a camp at Randall Pond in Brooks for years, where she enjoyed her time very much laying in the sun. She also enjoyed dancing at the Blue Goose and her flower garden. Nancy loved her family and one of her greatest joys was spending time with them. She was predeceased by her parents and a son, Alan Roberts. Survivors include her children, Peter Roberts of Brooks, Paula Welch and husband Steven of Brooks; brothers and sisters, Charlotte Bowen and husband Norman of Belfast, Emma Lowe of Brooks, Roberta Riley of Belfast; four grandchildren, Daniel Flood, Joshua Flood, Emily Roberts, Peter Roberts; six great-grandchildren, Dakoda and Ashley Flood, Morgan, Leena, Maya and Peter; several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 28th at Pilley Cemetery, Rt. 7, Brooks. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
