Obituary of Eleanor Edith Flanders
Eleanor Edith (Paige) Flanders, 86, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2010 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Eleanor E. Paige was born February 15, 1924 in Athol, MA. She was the daughter of Harry W. Paige and Eva E. (Sweeney) Paige.
She married Warren R. Gordon in 1942, and they moved to Belfast Maine in 1947. Eleanor had seven children who she loved dearly.
In 1974 she married Ermo C. Flanders. When Eleanor retired from MSAD #34 where she worked as a custodian and bus driver, she and her husband traveled to Florida for the winters. Eleanor loved going to the Ritchie camp on Swan Lake to eat lobster and spend time with her family. Her many hobbies included reading, watching games shows, crocheting, and in her younger years gardening and cooking.
She was predeceased by both of her parents, her first husband and father of her children, Warren Gordon; her second husband Ermo Flanders; two brothers, Charles and Harvey. She was also predeceased by three of her children, Nancy Gordon, Ronald Gordon, Cheryl Teel and two grandchildren, Wendy Dodge and Candy Tozier. She is survived by four children, Terry Gordon and his wife Becky of FL, Eva Gordon of KS, Linda Gerald of MA and Patricia Donnelly of TX. Eleanor has 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. After the death of her youngest son, Ronnie, Eleanor was cared for by Terri (Gordon) Flannery and her husband Steven, and her two grandchildren Melissa (Gordon) Hink and David Gordon.
Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27th at Grove Cemetery in Belfast with Pastor Tim Hall officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
