John Donley Obituary

JOHN H. DONLEY, 70, died on September 22nd at his home after a brief illness. He was born May 3, 1940 in Millinocket, the son of Lawrence and Madeline (Kelly) Donley. John graduated from Stearns High School in 1959. He worked for Great Northern Paper for 40 years retiring in 1999. John loved the outdoors and had many good trips on his snow sled and his 4-wheeler with all of his friends. He had many years of hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents; brother Dick and brother-in-law Donald Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy Downs Donley; four children Joann Huston and husband Jeff of Millinocket, Tom Donley and his wife Carolyn of Millinocket, David Donley and his wife Kymberly of Bradford and Bonnie McDade of Old Town; six grandchildren who he thought the world of, Matt Huston and his girlfriend Tricia Plumley of Bangor, Jessica Huston of Brewer, Kayla and John Donley of Millinocket, Nikki and Willie McDade of Old Town; one great-grandson, Ethan Lee “the little “pissermia”; his sisters Mary Jane and her husband Marty of Lisbon Falls, Ann and her husband Tom Monteith of Millinocket; brother Mike and his wife Fran of Ebeemee and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Johnson and Barbara Donley of Millinocket. There will be a committal service at a later date. Donations may be made in John’s memory to Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field Street, Millinocket, ME 04462.
