Maurice Farrar Obituary

Maurice R. Farrar died unexpectedly at home on October 16, 2010. He was born on February 16, 1935. He Lived and worked on the chicken plantation for several years. He then drove milk truck for George Farrar. He then worked for Bridge Corp. construction company. He also enjoyed driving tanker trucks for Merrill Transport and then Irving Oil company until he retired. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was part of the Marines. He loved vacationing with family, from camping up north or at Deer Isles, to traveling to Florida. He loved having all the family together and would use any excuse to have the whole family over. He enjoyed hosting the monthly game nights for the family and having the children around him. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 51 of years, Esther L. Farrar, parenets George and Ethel Farrar, siblings Kenneth Farrar, George Farrar, Gloria Keay, and Dorothy Wiggins, and grandson Christopher L. Wellman. He is survived by five children, son David and wife Nancy, daughter Celia and husband Lionel York Sr., son Michael, son Ernest, and daughter Anita and husband Clyde Wellman Jr. He is also survived by grandchildren Ben Thomas and wife Michelle, Lionel York Jr. and wife Kristen, Danielle and husband Robert Lint, Jessica Farrar, Jennifer Farrar, Maranda Wellman. His great-grandchildren include Zachery and Garrett Thomas, Lionel III and Kevin York, Victoria, Alexis, and Tabitha Lint. He is also survived by brother Everett Farrar, sister Gladys Hubbard, and sister Marcia Troop, sister-in-laws Estella Austin, Joyce Rowe, Helen Farrar, and Natalie Farrar, and brother-in-law Crosby Keay, and numerous nieces, and nephews. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 23rd 11 a.. at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery followed by a gathering at Belmont Community Center, 613 Back Belmont Road, Belmont. On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com
