Nancy Parker Fox of Winthrop passed away Tuesday morning October 26, 2010, at The Hospice House, Auburn ME after waging a long and courageous battle with cancer. she was the daughter of E. Lawrence Parker Jr. and Constance Petersen Parker of Cohasset, MA. She attended Cohasset MA schools and was a graduate of Thayer Academy, Braintree, MA (class of 1949) She also attended the School of Practical Art in Boston. She was an Airline Hostess first for Northeast Airlines and later for United Airlines. She was married to Edwin R.D. ‘Ladd’ Fox II and was the mother of two daughters, Robyn Fox Moore and husband Tom Moore of Jay, Maine and Stacy Fox and her partner Steve Pond of Mt Vernon, Maine. She was the grandmother of Joel Dakin of Columbus Ohio, Joshua Dakin of Jay, Maine, and Kelly Buzzell of Saco, Maine. She also leaves two sisters, Sally Wood of Sarasota FL and Pamellia Hennessey of Richmond, VA and a brother Frederick Parker. Formerly from Bernardsville NJ, she had lived in Winthrop ME for many years. She loved all animals, designing & building water gardens and her intense landscaping. A friend described her as " … a beautiful, rare butterfly, flirting and darting among us. Her optimism, strength and courage made her exquisite. Her 'pistol' personality and tenacious character made her remarkable." She will be missed by family and friends.
