BARBARA (ROBERTS) FLOOD, 87, passed away October 31, 2010 at her residence in Belfast. She was born on December 19, 1922 at a nursing home in Brooks, the third child born to Earle M. and Inez A. (Estes) Roberts. Dr. Kilgore made his way from Belfast with horse and sleigh through a winter blizzard to attend the birth. Barbara was valedictorian of her graduating class at Morse Memorial High School in Brooks. She worked for many years as office manager of Belfast Shoe Company and at Penobscot Poultry. Her devotion to her family was her passion in life. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Dale and Eugene, sister, Crystal Berry and granddaughter, Kristen Downs. Survivors include her daughters, Susan Lauchlan and partner Kathleen Murphy, Jane Blood; her sons, David and his wife Varina; Bill and his wife Carol, Chris and his wife Mary; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday November 25th at Rose Cemetery in Brooks. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
