Edgar Parent Obituary

EDGAR S. PARENT, 85, died on December 16, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts on March 8, 1925, the son of Walter and Esther (Beal) Parent. He was a well decorated Army AirCorps of WWII, who had 25 missions over Japan just after the A-Bomb was dropped. He was an avid golfer and loved country music and 40’s Big Band Music. He would sit up on Saturday nights listening to RFD TV #345, enjoyed traveling to Arizona with his wife and his sister-in-law and husband. He was a member of the American Legion of Brooks and VFW. He enjoyed going to lunch at the mill in Searsmont daily, also driving to Belfast daily to get the Boston Globe. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Eleanor Snowdeal and was survived by his wife of 26 years, Rena Parent of Brooks; his step-children Colby Crossman of MA, Cinda Young of RI and Cary Crossman of MA; brother-in-law Ed Elwell of Northport; sister-in-laws, Avis Bradford of Smithfield and Georgia Trask of Oakland; five grandchildren, Danielle, Deborah Ann, Daniel, Erin Lynn Crossman and Carrie Plentus; one great-grandchild, Chase Kinney. A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 27th at the new Maine Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
