Mary Sprague Obituary

MARY A. (RYDER) SPRAGUE, 70, passed away on December 24, 2010 in Belfast. She was born in Monroe on March 30, 1940, the daughter of Frank and Phoebe (Knowlton) Ryder. In her younger years, she worked at Maplewood Poultry, and spent a lot of her time keeping her two boys in line. Mary was a long-time member of the Belfast United Methodist Church and was very active there. She loved music, enjoyed time with family and friends. She always remembered people with a special letter or card. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Earl C. Sprague. Mary is survived by her two sons, James Sprague and wife Torie of Northport and Earl A. Sprague of Belfast; her brothers, Dennis Ryder of Levant and Melvin Ryder of Belfast; two grandchildren, Kayla and Austin Sprague and her special friend, Elsie Wells Kaler who she has known since childhood. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. December 29th at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Private graveside services will be held in the spring.
