Obituary of Marie H. Twombly

MARIE H. TWOMBLY, 95, passed away January 14, 2010 at her residence in Belfast. She was born October 3, 1915 in Montville, the daughter of Herbert and Elizzie (Choate) Jackson. She was a graduate of Maine General School of Nursing in 1941 and married her husband of 55 years, Raymond. She then came to work in the O.R. at Waldo County General Hospital. She retired after 17 years and then taught classes at Waldo County Technical School into her 80s. She worked at Bradbury Nursing Home until they moved over the river when she retired. She loved serving families, playing cribbage and children. Marie was predeceased by her husband in 1996; also her brothers, Alfred and Guy Jackson. Survivors include her children, Alan Twombly and his wife Carolyn Eisner of Falmouth, Lois Hawes and her husband Harold of Belfast, Dale Twombly and his wife Becky of North Carolina; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a nephew. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 22nd at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast with Rev. Ken Davenport officiating.
