Obituary of Leonard Bud Gleason

Leonard M. "Bud" Gleason joined the creator March 18, 2011. He was born in Moscow, "above the Tomb" on Aug. 6, 1940, the son of Arlette and Donald Gleason. He worked as a bowman on the mighty Kennebec River during the river drive, also working the crops of Mother Earth, setting many records: Most apples perfectly picked in one day at North Star Orchards, Madison; holding the record of the Northeast coast for most blueberries raked in one day for E.S. Herrick; harvested potatoes in Aroostook County with many Mic-Mac friends; picked oranges in Florida; helped to pave the first tarred road past Brassuah; and took state champion arm wrestling. Bud loved nature, bowhunting, fishing, and family and friends to the fullest. He especially loved organic gardening -- always walking his own path. Survived by his wife, Brenda, spirit mate and love of his life; son Troy and significant other Krissy Salisbury; son Donald and wife Kelly; daughter Jessica; grandchildren: Zoey Gleason, Dylan Dickey, Tyler Johnson, and Magen and Jordan Jones; his beloved four-legged Shamon; and feathered friends Sunshine and Happy Lovely. He was predeceased by his parents, Arlette and Donald Gleason; grandfather Norman Collins, the mentor who taught him the way of the woods and the Kennebec River; and many special friends -- those of the inner circle know who you are. He will be deeply felt and missed by those of the round table, who came for piece of mind, healing, strength and the wisdom of Gray Feather. "Speaking words of wisdom: Let it be!!!" Special thanks to Randy Dore for the gift of his talent and kindness; also to STEPS for sharing his sacred spirituality. Celebration of life will be at a later date.
