CARLENE E. PORTER, 73 of Stockton Springs, passed away March 30, 2011 in Belfast. She was born in Belfast on October 9, 1937, daughter of Harold and Meda Smith. She was previously a member of the First Baptist Church in Belfast. Carlene enjoyed visiting at family gatherings. She and her husband enjoyed riding motorcycles and were members of Retread Motorcycle Group, Bay Area Riders and Brothers of the Three Wheelers. Together they drove motorcycle runs around Lake George, New York and Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her parents; her siblings Ray and Harold and a half-sister Joyce. Carlene is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Eugene Porter of Stockton Springs; her children, Sonia Robertson and husband Ralph of Bucksport, Tammy Astbury and husband Scott of Sedgwick, Mary Ward and husband Dale of Belmont, Harold Porter and wife Angela of Prospect and Edward Porter of Glenburn; her sisters, Faye Smith, Jean Bucklin and husband Jerome, and Joan Smith, all of Belfast; grandchildren, Roseanna, River, Dustin, Kirby, Chelsea, Madison, Evan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. where funeral services will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Storm Gould officiating.
