CLAUDE L. BAILEY, 65, died June 15, 2011 in Belfast. He was born in Belfast on January 1, 1946 the son of Leslie and Abbey (Thompson) Bailey. Claude worked locally in the waste and recycling business for over 50 years, starting off working for others and then went on his own. He worked hard all his life, but he enjoyed working on old trucks and cars. He was predeceased by his brother, John Sanford, and is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vera Bailey of Belfast; his two sons, Sidney Harvey of Waldo and Raymond Bailey of Belfast; his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Keniston of Belfast, Merlene Ahearn of Farmingdale, Vaughn Gardiner of Augusta, Verena Flood of Belfast, Conrad Gardiner of Hallowell, and Enoch Gardiner of Florida, Arthur Bailey of Jefferson, Arlene Reynolds of Belfast, and Mark Bailey of Waterville; five grandchildren. A time of fellowship will be held 6-9 p.m. Friday June 24th at the Belfast Redman Hall. Arrangements under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
