Obituary of Joy L. Mehuren

JOY MEHUREN, 48 of Searsmont, passed away July 6, 2011 after a year-long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loving family and friends at her home in Searsmont. She was born in Camden February 21, 1963. She was the daughter of Louis Miller Sr. and Linda (Turner) Miller. She graduated from Mt. View High School, Class of 1981. Joy’s life touched many throughout her years. She enjoyed accounting as her self-taught profession. She took care of many businesses throughout Belfast, most recently Perry’s Quik Stop, Dirigo Glass and others. Joy’s hobbies included gardening, camping and just sitting by the campfire with her husband in their back yard. One of her greatest joys was the birth of her grandson, J.D. Williams, her pride and joy. Joy is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Jim Mehuren; her son James Jr. and his wife Kyle (Smoak) Mehuren of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; daughter, Joanna Mehuren and her son J.D. Williams of Searsmont; her mother Linda Miller of Liberty; brother Louis Miller and partner Gail Pomerleau of Palermo and grandmother Doris Turner of Camden; many aunts, uncles, nieces, one nephew and friends too many to list. She was predeceased by her father, Louis Miller Sr.; her brother Danny Miller and mother-in-law Joyce Mehuren. Family and friends are invited to call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12th at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hunt Cemetery in Liberty with Reverend Steve Daniels officiating.
