Obituary of Gregory N. Bowen

GREGORY N. BOWEN, 33 of Searsmont, passed away August 7, 2011 at Belfast. He was born in Belfast May 23, 1978 the son of Michael and Wendy (Wilson) Bowen. Greg was a 1996 graduate of Belfast Area High School. He was in the Merchant Marines and then moved to Florida for a few years. He loved to travel. He moved back to Waldo County in 2008 to run the tavern with his brother, Mike. He loved his car, music and his cat, Fred. Greg really enjoyed his charity rides for “Bowenfest” where he was able to contribute and bless many. He was a great encourager to other cancer patients, traveling to give them hope, strength and courage. He will be missed by many. Greg is survived by his paternal grandparents, Norman and Charlotte Bowen of Belfast; his mother and father, Michael and Wendy Bowen of Belmont; his brother Michael Bowen and fiancé Bridget Ladd of Belmont; his aunts, uncles and cousins. At Greg’s request, there will be no formal services; however a celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date.
