Walter Catterson Obituary

Walter "Don" Catterson, 81, formerly of New York, died peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at his home in Belfast. He was the oldest son of Walter and Helen Moran Catterson of Queens, NY. He graduated with honors from New York University with a degree in marketing and journalism and then served during the Korean Conflict. Afterward, he pursued a marketing career at Printer's Inc. and The Clio Awards before founding GEMS, his own marketing company in 1985. He retired to Belfast in 2005, where he pursued his passion for painting and photography. He is survived by three children. Regina, of Minot, ME, Donald of Catskill, NY, and Cynthia of Greenwich, CT. Also surviving are his former wife, Dorothy, his brother, Bruce, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces and five nephews.
