Jack M Madore, 68 of Warren, passed away February 16, 2012 in Rockport. Born on March 18, 1943, the son of Lionel J and Mary (Bennett) Madore, Jack grew up in Southwest Harbor with his grandparents, Harry and Fanny Bennett. After graduating from Pemetic High School, he followed his love of the sea becoming a commercial fisherman working out of Rockland, Portland and New Bedford.He is survived by daughters Jackielyn Madore of Bangor, Colette Madore of Union, a sister, Loretta Rogers of South Portland, brothers Keith Madore of Trenton, Lionel John Madore of Berkeley, Calif., stepchildren Wendy VanDine, Jill Sullivan, Steve Clark, grandson Caleb Madore; several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on March 2 from 11 am until 1 pm at the American Legion Hall , 335 Limerock Ave in Rockland. The family would like to thank the staff at Pen Bay Hospital, especially the nurses, respiratory therapists and hospitalists in the Special Care Unit for the excellent and compassionate care given to Jack. For those who wish, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to Humane Society of Knox County, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, Maine, 04841.
