Obituary of Leta May Calderwood
LETA MAY CALDERWOOD, 86 of Lincolnville, died peacefully February 28, 2012 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport. She was born August 28, 1925 in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire, the daughter of Freeborn William and Matilda E. (Crosby) Pettis. She enjoyed collecting recipes and searching for that special treasure at lawn sales. Leta was predeceased by her parents, great-grandson Connor Knight-Adams in 2007, sister Elsie May Bowles Beckett in 2004, son-in-law Albert Flanders Jr. in 1986 and former husband, Charles W. Jakobsen in 2008. Surviving are her husband, Dennis Bradway Calderwood of Lincolnville; daughters, Linda Jakobsen Knight and her husband, Bradford of Lincolnville, Deborah Jakobsen Ball and her husband Charles of Rockland, Kathy Jakobsen Flanders of Pinedale, Wyoming. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Brad and his partner Caity Hager, Arno Knight of Portland, Kelli Knight and her partner, James Glidden of Searsmont, Merinda Knight Wilber and husband Nate of Homer, Alaska, Tina Simmons and husband, Donald of Lincolnville, Charles Ball and wife Kelly of Thomaston, and Corey Jakobsen and wife Karen of Pinedale, Wyoming; ten great-grandchildren, Shai, Ashton, Chelsee, Christopher, Dallas, Gage, Dustin, Donald, Joshua and Chianne; brother-in-law, Joseph and his wife, sister-in-law Ruth Calderwood of Lincolnville, sister-in-law, Frances Calderwood Scripture of Aurora, Colorado; several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Shelia Bowles Philbrook and Roberta Bowles Curtis. By her request there will be no service. Burial will be at a later date at the Lower Cemetery, Heal Road, Lincolnville Center, Maine. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
