Obituary of Everett Lovoyd Wright
Everett Lovoyd “Rocky” Wright, age 66, of Nokomis, Florida expired Monday, April 16, 2012 in Nokomis, Florida. He was born July 23, 1945 in Saint Louis, Missouri, the son of Burdella (nee, Wright) Johnson, formerly of East Saint Louis, IL. Rocky was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Fred and Lillian Wright; father, Samuel Johnson, and two brothers, Michael and Alvis Johnson.
Everett was called “Rocky” by all who really knew him. Rocky was raised in East St. Louis, IL and was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln Sr. High School. He joined the United States Air Force immediately following graduation from high school and traveled to such places as London, England. While in the military he was trained in the medical field as a Laboratory Surgical Technician. Upon his return to civilian life, he received training, and subsequently employed at the Barnes-Jewish Medical Center (formerly, Barnes Hospital) in Saint Louis, Missouri. Eventually he moved to Belfast, Maine where he married and was employed at Waldo County General Hospital for many years. Upon his retirement, he moved to Nokomis, FL.
The loved ones he leaves behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Laurene Wright, Nokomis, FL; his wonderful mother, Burdella (Wright) Johnson, siblings; Gary Johnson, Garland, TX; Susan Loyd, Newport News, VA; Pastor Michelle Gist (Pastor Jesse Gist), Tulsa, OK; Roszell Johnson (Jacqueline Johnson), East St. Louis, IL; Tracey Goldsby (Miles Goldsby), Virginia Beach, VA; Twyla Harris (Pastor Kenneth Harris), Chicago, IL, step children, Michael Wood (Valerie), Cheryl Baltrush (Vern), Brenda Boulier (James), and Peter Wood (Christie) and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, cousins and friends.
