Obituary of Rita R Collins

Rita R. Collins, 74, of Searsport passed away in Belfast October 24, 2012 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. She was born in Bucksport May 18, 1938 a daughter of the late William J. and Margaret E. (Davis) Roberts. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, camping and snowmobiling. Rita would winter in Zephyrhills, FL for many years until she her sickness didn’t allow her to travel the distance. Rita married the love of her life, Dallas Collins in 1957 and were happily married for 55 years. She always looked forward to “Cousins Day” every Tuesday. Rita is survived by her husband Dallas of Searsport, and her children: Gary Collins and his companion Kristen Murbach of Belmont, and Kimberly Burke and her husband John of Searsport; her four grandchildren: Jason, Jared, Sara, and Jeremy; her two great-grandchildren: Bryce and Miles; her siblings: Wilma “Billy” Berry of Searsport, Mina Barry of Bangor, Rhonda Colcord of FL, Rhoda Sutfin of Swanville, and John Roberts of Appleton. She will also be missed by her mother in law Dorothy Collins of Searsport and a special cousin whom she was very close with, Nancy Hamilton of Searsport as well as many nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday November 17, 2012 at Smart Cemetery, Swanville.
