Obituary of Dorothy Louise Kilgore

Dorothy Louise(Grace) Kilgore, 93, of Lincolnville, died peacefully, Jan. 9, 2013 in Belfast. She was born Dec. 16, 1919, in Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., the daughter of Harland Sylvester Grace and Lula Florence (Wilson) Grace. Dorothy graduated from Troy High School in Troy, Pa., and attended Mansfield State Teacher’s College and The University of the State of New York. She practiced and taught Cosmetology at Linton High School in Schenectady, New York. Later she had owned her own hair salon business, The Beauty Bower in Burnt Hills, New York. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, celebrating holidays with her family, plus had so many home keeping talents. She always cherished her loving pets. Dorothy is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Melville Enoch Kilgore of 72 years and brother, Albert W. Grace. Survivors include two sons, Greg Kilgore and wife Elena Nechepurenko of Lincolnville; Rod Kilgore and wife Lin Kilgore of Webster, N.Y., grandsons Shaun Marcellus, Ryan Kilgore and Anton Nechepurenko; granddaughters, Jennifer Kilgore, Carlie Kilgore, Kelsey Kilgore; great-grandson, Christian Weed; great-granddaughter, Alexandra Marcellus; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services and a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
