Obituary of Robert M. Cushman
ROBERT M. CUSHMAN SR., 72 of Belmont, passed away in Belfast on May 18, 2013. He was born June 8, 1940 in Searsmont, a son of Lawrence and Viola (Skinner) Cushman Sr. He worked at Sprowl Bros. and later at Robbins Lumber retiring after 25 years. He attended Little River Church with his wife. Bob was a real outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed snowmobiling and participated in the Pine Tree Camp Ride every year. He and Shirley traveled to Oklahoma and Florida visiting family and seeing sights. They went as far as Texas.
He was predeceased by both parents and is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Shirley Cushman of Belmont; his children, Angela Wilson and husband Steven of Medford, OK, Earl Cushman and wife Becky of Northport, Robert Cushman Jr and significant other Debra of Belmont, Amy Cushman of Belfast; siblings, John Cushman and wife Jody, George Cushman and wife Thelma, Esther Reece and significant other Don, Ruth Merrifield, Bertha Ruuk and husband Harold, David Cushman and wife Sylvia, Mary Baron, Dorothy Sherwood and husband Paul, Janice Glidden and husband Reggie, Stephen Cushman, James Cushman and wife Sherlene, Lawrence Cushman Jr. and wife Nancy; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special aunt Hester Ryan of Camden; numerous nieces and nephews; his two pugs Zoe and Pugley.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22nd at Little River Church, Northport Avenue, Belfast. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Tree Camp, 114 Pine Tree Road, Rome, ME 04963.
