Alda Marie (McCarthy) Spencer, 96, of Belfast went to meet Jesus on July 17, 2013. She was born on June 25, 1917 in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, the daughter of Michael and Margaret McCarthy. Alda met her husband George Spencer while enjoying one of her pastimes riding horses. She loved the Lord and enjoyed her time spent in his word. Alda took great pleasure in life and time spent with her caregiver Deloris and her children and grandchildren, as well as the Kinney family who she became very close to. She loved eating with people who enjoyed food, her favorite being spaghetti. Alda will be remembered for her witty nature and her relaxed disposition. She was especially fond of her time spent at church and with her church family. Alda also loved flowers especially roses. She is predeceased by her husband, and son George. Alda is survived by her loving daughter Peggy LaFlamme and husband James of Massachusetts; and her grandchildren Tina and Tim; as well as many close friends. Memorial services will be held on Sunday July 28, 2013 at 2 pm at Lighthouse Bible Church in Searsport with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
