Douglas Schinella Obituary

Douglas A. Schinella, 79, of Concord N.H., died October 24 in hospice at the Veterans Hospital in Augusta, the only child of Ceasar P. Schinella and Ethel M. Kelley. Doug graduated from Concord High School in 1952, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was commissioned on the U.S.S. Forrestal until his discharge in 1956. He returned to Concord and married Lucette Bourgault, and they have four children. Doug was a successful salesman for many years and was well known in the restaurant industry. Doug has lived in the Belfast area for 27 years. He was married to Polly Young of Belfast for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his home and his weekly poker game with his friends. He loved his family. Doug's greatest enjoyment was in making people laugh. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He leaves behind four children. Jane and Steve Quirk of Scarborough, Marcia L. Gibson of Old Orchard Beach, Diane L.Schinella of South Portland, James and Kristin Schinella of Philadelphia, PA. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Erin, Mary, Meghan, Kimberly, Francesca, Luciana, and Marco. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast on Saturday, November 2nd from 1:00-4:00 pm.
