ELLSWORTH — Lawrence “Lonnie” R. Clough, 78, died peacefully Dec. 10, 2013, at a local health care facility. Lawrence was born Feb. 5, 1935, at Ellsworth Falls, the son of Harvard and Minnie (Harriman) Clough. He served in the U.S. Army and returned home in 1958. He worked most of his life as an antique dealer and became well known and respected in eastern Maine for his knowledge and love of antiques. He loved his family, his friends and all animals. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Myrtle (Merrithew) Clough; three brothers, Harvard “Mike,” Robert and Harold; two sisters, Hilda and Anne. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Marie Clough of Ellsworth; four stepdaughters, Cynthia (Leighton) True and husband, Bob, of Ellsworth; Debra Neale and husband, Joel, of Ellsworth; Darlene Trafton of Ellsworth; Catherine Frongillo and husband, David, of Lamoine; and one stepson, Joseph Donnelly of Ellsworth; two brothers, Parker Clough of Ellsworth and John Clough and wife, Carolyn, of Hancock. He is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. Lawrence will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Arrangements will be announced at a later date.
