Obituary of Arthur Lavway

WINTERPORT ARTHUR LAVWAY, 76 of Winterport, passed away December 21, 2013 at Bangor. He was born in Monroe on March 30, 1937, a son of Octave and Lucille (Roberts) Lavway. He worked at Penobscot Poultry before retiring in 1987. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood cutting. He loved dancing until his health prevented him from continuing. He is predeceased by his sisters, Virginia Simon, Gloria Cross and brother Vincent Lavway. Arthur is survived by sisters, Eldora Strickland of Winslow, Teresa Abbott of Freedom, Janette Prescott and husband Norman of Brooks; grandchildren Justin Brown and wife Lura and their daughter Ashley Brown, all of Winterport; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 26th from 5-7 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. Burial will be at Kenney Cemetery in the spring.
