Shirley Carver Obituary

Shirley Irene Carver, 83, passed away peacefully January 31, 2014, and was reunited in heaven with her childhood sweetheart and husband of 63 years, Herbert Carver SR. Shirley was born in Watertown, NY, on August 18, 1930. She moved to Mount Chase, Maine, in her early teens. She was a wonderful wife, mother and devoted Christian, who created a warm, loving home for her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. After her children were grown, she worked for Catholic Charities providing compassionate home-care. Her kind, gentle, sweet spirit endeared her to many. She is survived by her children Sandra and her husband, Bruce McNally, of Hersey, Lucinda and her husband, Jim Beane, of Mount Vernon, Catherine James and her partner, Frank Mirfin, of Benedicta, Loretta Ventimiglia of Salamanca, N.Y., and Herbert Carver Jr. of Mount Chase; her bother-in-law Adrain Carver and wife Ruby of Houlton and her sister-in-law Dorothy Myshrall also of Houlton; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-granddaughters; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Carver SR., her mother, Catherine Noyes and step-father, Halbert Noyes, her father, Raymond Howard, her sisters: Mae Scott, Pricilla Smith, Doris Brown and Rita Morse; and great-granddaughter Christina Heath. Services will be held in the in the spring, and will be announced at a later date.
