Obituary of Joan Cormier

WATERVILLE - Joan Cormier passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville. Joan was born the daughter of Josephine Dutil and Alton Austin. She was a lifelong resident of Waterville. She was 80 years old. She was married to Bernard Cormier, who predeceased her in 2010. They were married for 60 years. Mrs. Cormier was employed by Keyes Fiber Co. She retired after 39 years of service to the company. She was a Daughter of Isabella. Joan enjoyed traveling with her husband and the game of golf. She also enjoyed the holidays and spending time with her family. Joan is survived by her three sons, Bernard and wife Cindy, of Benton, Joseph and wife Jody, of Fairfield, and Tim Cormier, of Benton; sisters-in law Betty Whitten and George, of Waterville, and Joan Bryant and Butch, of Clinton. Joan also is survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express appreciation to the caring staff at Lakewood and Dr. Bajpai for his excellent care. At Joan's request, there will be no visiting hours.
