Obituary of Dorothy Tower

Dorothy J. Tower passed away June 26, 2014 at her home in Waldo with her daughters at her side . She was born July 20, 1931 in Franklin, Ohio, the daughter of George and Lucy ( Hollingsworth ) Allmyer . She graduated from Franklin High School in 1950 , and then met and married her husband John E. Tower from Belfast, Maine. During their marriage in Ohio, they had four daughters. Dorothy came to Maine in 1959 with her children and husband to live and raise her family. She was a very loving, unselfish and dedicated Mother , who always put her children first , and will forever be loved and never forgotten by her children , grandchildren and great grandchildren . Our Mother was a very hard-working and dedicated employee of several retail stores in the area, the last one being Reny's Department Store in Belfast . Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, her husband John E. Tower, her daughters Beverly LeSan and Carol Tower; her brother George Allmyer . She is survived by her daughters June McCormick of Gouldsboro and Kathy Larrabee and husband Owen of Brooks; her grandchildren, John Cox of Troy, Chelly McCormick of Hancock, Greg Tower and Brandi of Lincolnville, Katie (Cox) Bagley and husband Tony of Searsport. Lori Tower and Amy Tower of Belfast; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron, Ryker, Drew, Olivia, Baileigh, Faith and Frankie; her sister Anna Mae Toole of Middletown, Ohio; many nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday July 9th at 4pm at the family plot in Grove Cemetery in Belfast with the Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.
