Obituary of Harland Leigh Crosby

HARLAND LEIGH CROSBY JR., 83 of Unity, died August 9, 2014 at Oak Grove Center in Waterville. He was born in Unity on June 21, 1931 to Susie and Harland L. Crosby Sr. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Unity High School. Leigh proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and returned home to the farm he loved. After fire claimed his barn in 1996, he relied on parking cars on his fields during the Common Ground Fair to make ends meet. His sister and local friends all chipped in to make the event pleasurable. For the past three years, Leigh has resided at Oak Grove Center in Waterville. His friends would like to thank Oak Grove for the wonderful care he received there. Leigh was predeceased by his parents; brother Frank and sister Carole. At Leigh’s request, there will be no memorial service.
