Obituary of Sandra J. Allen

Northport — Sandra J. Allen, 69 of Northport, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, in Belfast. She was born Dec. 23, 1944, to Maude (Stinson) and Forest Harford Sr. Growing up she lived in many towns and as a young adult settled in Northport where she made her home. Sandra worked for Mathews Brothers for 19 years and then did housekeeping for local banks and motels. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers Philip and William Harford and sister Joan Harford. Sandy leaves behind a very special friend, Ralph Flanders, who was by her side through it all. Together they enjoyed traveling all over western and northern parts of the state enjoying the wildlife and peaceful beauty of rural Maine. Sandy and Ralph often got up long before the sun and would head out on some adventure and wind up on the Canadian border. Sandy loved nature and wildlife and spent many hours working in her yard, feeding the birds or going on long walks. She is also survived by a brother, Forest Harford Jr. and his wife Jenese of Morrill; four sisters Ruth Fuller of Searsmont, Pauline Black of Brooks, Doris Smith of Swanville and June Roberts of Swanville; as well as many nieces and nephews. At Sandra’s request there will be no services held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
