Obituary of Laurance B. Libby

LAURANCE B. LIBBY, 72, passed away at his residence in Stockton Springs on November 6, 2014. He was born in Winterport on January 21, 1942 to William and Susan (Dyer) Libby. Laurance was a proud papermaker at Bucksport paper mill for over 40 years. He enjoyed his computer, fishing, New England sports as well as yard work and gardening. He is predeceased by his parents and a sister Alice Noiles. Laurance is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beryl Libby; his children Dean Libby and wife Lynnette, Brian Libby and wife Trish, all of Bucksport, Brenda Littlefield and husband Scott of Searsport, Brad Libby and wife Michelle of Stockton Springs; brothers-in-law, Basil O’Leary and wife Linda of Derry, NH, Darrell O’Leary and wife Donna of Belfast, Paul Noiles of Prospect; grandchildren Michael Libby and wife Katie, Justin Littlefield, Jessica Libby, Adam Littlefield; step-grandchildren Seth Gallant, Sheena Cottle and husband Willy, David Soper, Joseph Soper and wife Nicole, Matthew and Christopher Neville; many nieces, nephews and many other special family members as well as his pet, Bud-dog. Private graveside services will be held for the immediate family. Thank you to the staff at the Dialysis Unit for their care and to Dr. Weisman and Dr. Sherwood at Vascular Care. Those who wish may make donations in Laurance’s memory to the Dialysis Unit, Waldo County General Hospital, PO Box 287, Belfast, ME 04915.
