Obituary of Edgar F Montminy

Edgar F. Montminy, 89, of 1250 Waterville Road, Waldo, Maine, passed away at Togus Springs on May 26, 2015. Edgar was born in Lewiston on April 4, 1926, the son of the late Alphonse and Anna (Fournier) and attended Lewiston schools. Edgar was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He married Faye Albee on September 11, 1954. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Belfast and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He took great pride in his home, the farm, and he spent many hours working in the yard and in the barn. He loved spending time with his ever-growing family. He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years; two daughters, Coby Thibeau and her husband Ralph, Melanie Eynon and her husband Curt; two sons, Michael Montminy and his wife Julie, David Montminy and his wife Lori; six granddaughters, Stephanie Novy, Deanna Thibeau, Ashleigh Montminy, Kayla Montminy, Macy Montminy, Kimberly Eynon; two grandsons, Chad Montminy and Christopher Montminy; four great-grandsons, Hunter Novy, Marcus Novy, Brandon Novy and Braxton Clark; two brothers, Roger Montminy and Gerard Montminy; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Edgar was predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Armand Montminy; and four sisters, Marie Cote, Jeannie Treadwell, Bernice Martin and Irene Tremblay. The family wishes to thank Drs. Ross and Schneid, and the nurses and CNAs at Togus Springs for the loving care that Edgar received. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VAVS homeless assistance fund in Edgar’s memory and sent to 1 VA Center, #135, Augusta ME 04330. There will be a memorial service at Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast on June 8, 2015. Family can gather to share memories from 5:00pm, and a celebration of life will begin at 6:00pm. Burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, at a later date.
