Obituary of Peter Joseph Pepper
Nobleboro - Peter Joseph Pepper, Jr, 68, passed away at home on June 30, 2015 with his wife by his side after a brief battle with throat cancer.
Peter was born on December 9, 1946, in Springfield, MA to Peter Joseph Pepper and Shirley Hervieux Pepper. He was a Teamster for more than 25 years and when he retired, he became a bus driver for Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta until he retired again in 2004. Peter was very proud of being Italian; loved music, especially from the 50's and 60's; classic cars; and was a dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan. His claims to fame are that he met Dion Dimucci of Dion & the Belmonts and Julius Erving and Moses Malone of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Although Peter led a full and active life, he was most proud of his children and grandchildren, and always said they were his greatest accomplishment.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cynthia, and their children, sons Matthew and Travis, daughters Nikki and Taylor, son-in-law Steve Gray, and grandsons Xander Pepper and Phoenix Gray. He is also survived by two daughters from a previous marriage, Heather Gill and Jodi Pepper, and grandsons Jordan and Sawyer Gill. Peter also leaves his brother Michael Pepper, sisters Denise Cunningham and husband Stephen, and Donna Sullivan and husband Daniel. In addition, he leaves behind his faithful, loving companions - his three Chihuahuas, Pockets, Tigger, and Boo.
At Peter's request, there will be no services. Arrangements are with Direct Cremation of Maine in Belfast, ME. Online condolence messages can be left on their website, www.directcremationofmaine.com under his obituary.
Peter was very proud that his sons are military veterans and requested that friends and family make donations to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or www.woundedwarriorproject.org in his memory.
