Obituary of Sherrill M. Littlefield
Brooks-
Sherrill M. (Curtis) Littlefield, 55, of Brooks went home to be with her Lord after a long courageous battle. She passed peacefully and with dignity while her husband gazed into her eyes as he promised her he would do when the time came. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. She was holding a cherished stone heart given to her by her loving brother.
Sherry was born September 29, 1959 in Waterville, Maine to Erving and Ferne (Wingate) Curtis of Thorndike. She was dedicated to the love of her life, her best friend and spouse, Rodger. She loved their babies (their cats) and all of her family. She enjoyed gardening and anything to do with the Royal Family, The Wizard of Oz, the Kennedy Family and of course, Elvis. Sherry was well known for her quick witted sense of humor and kind heart. She was always quick to lend a hand without expecting anything in return. She was a second mom to many, leaving behind many loving memories for all to cherish. She was also known as the “Candy Fairy” and for coming up with nicknames for all of her nieces and nephews.
Sherry is predeceased by her parents, a special aunt Kathleen Wingate, Grandmother Gladys Small, a special cousin Charlene (Wingate) Higgins, and sister-in-law, Debbie Littlefield.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Rodger Littlefield, Jr of Brooks, her big sister Sandra Sargent and husband Peter from Troy, brother Delton Curtis and wife Becky from Thorndike, mother and father-in-law, Rodger and Sandra Littlefield, Sr, of Waldo, brother-in-law Michael Littlefield, and sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Bill Whitcomb of Monroe. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, as well as, special longtime friend Christi (Manning) Burden and husband Mike from Ohio.
Visiting hours will be held 4 - 6 P.M. on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast. There will be no additional service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sherry’s memory to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center, 33 Whiting Hill Road, Brewer, ME 04412. Memories and condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
