Obituary of VellaDawn Giberson

MARS HILL – VellaDawn Giberson, 89, passed away on October 7, 2015. She was born April 9, 1926 in Robinson, Maine. At the age of 17, she was working in Washington, D.C. for the federal government. On returning home to Robinson, she worked at Presque Isle Air Force Base before going to work at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine. When she retired, she was working for Market News in Presque Isle. She and Victor were married in 1945 and before his death, they had been together for 60 years. She felt her greatest achievement was her family and all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill and her doctor, Dr. Eric Nicholas, for his years of care. VellaDawn was predeceased by her husband, Victor H. Giberson, Sr., her sons Victor, Jr. “Howie”, Edward, Keith and Daniel, and by her siblings. She leaves behind her daughters: Wanece Lambert of Bradley and DonnaLee Tilley of Mars Hill; her sons: Wayne R. Giberson, Sr. of Mars Hill and Blaine L. Giberson of Georgia; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday October 17th at 2pm at Kings Grove Cemetery in Mars Hill.
