Obituary of Debra Jean Turner
Debra Jean “Deb” Turner, 61, of Richmond, Maine, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 in Lewiston, Maine, after a long illness. Born March 30, 1954 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Deb was the daughter of Wilford E. and Nettie J. Turner of Washington, Maine, who preceded her in death.
A graduate of the University of Maine, Deb was a Registered Nurse by profession. She was employed by Goold Health Systems in Augusta. In the course of her career she worked as an Emergency Room Nurse in many of the larger Trauma Centers in this country. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a partner in the firm of “Full Screech Foods”. She was the first to volunteer and never hesitated to persuade friends and family to participate in her causes. She enjoyed traveling, making wine, canning foods and trips to the casinos with her sister and friends. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her nieces, great-niece and great-nephew.
Deb was a kind, loving, energetic and free-hearted person who enjoyed people and gave generously of her time and talents to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her sister Janie Turner, her brother Dave Turner, sister- in-law Eileen Turner, nieces Abbey and Molly Turner, her great-niece Alice and great-nephew Max, her special Aunt Diane, as well as all who knew her.
Funeral and burial will be private. As Deb loved hosting events at her home there will be a Celebration of Deb’s Life on Wednesday, October 28th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at her home in Richmond, Maine.
Anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory may do so at the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, 10 Pethaven Lane, Augusta, ME 04330.
