Obituary of Mary Anne Allenwood

BELFAST Mary Anne Hale Allenwood, 86, passed away February 5, 2016 at Tall Pines in Belfast. She was born in Camden on February 16,1929 to James Elliot and Evelyn (Crockett) Hale. Her grandfather owned Crockett's 5&10 in Camden, and she made many happy memories there. She graduated from Camden High School in 1949 and Gorham State Teachers College in 1953. Mary Anne married Jackson Allenwood in 1953. They loved traveling and lived for a while in Portland, Oregon. They were very happily married for 63 years. Jack predeceased her by 2 1/2 months. Mary Anne is survived by a cousin, Evelyn Anderson of Warren, four sisters-in-law, Brenda Miller of Camden, Ann Hussey of Belfast, June Herrick of Camden and Marie Hale of Lisbon Falls. She also had many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of her and Jack. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
